Available with the module Octopus Guest.

The Octopus Platform allows the full customization of the terms of use that will be shown to the users in the captive portal. For that, there are three different formats to be able to configure the terms of use, which are explained bellow.

Legal Terms list

The content of each column is:

  • Type: Type of legal terms: General terms, conditions of use or privacy policy. In the captive portals we will have the possibility to set up general terms or separate terms of use + privacy policy.

  • Name: Text field that identifies the document.

  • Owner: Field indicating in which Organization, Locations Group or Location are associated the terms of use.

  • Design: Type of design of the terms of use: Default template, ad-hoc text and redirects.

  • WLANS: Number of associated WLANs.

Add or edit Legal Terms

Possibility to create new legal terms by pressing the button

and selecting the desired option. If you want to edit legal terms, press the button

in the list.

When creating new legal terms you must know that in the portals we have the option to configure:

  • General Terms: One single document where we will recapitulate all the legal information.

  • Terms of use and privacy policy: Two different documents, one oriented to the conditions of use of the service and the other to the data protection policy.

Depending on the combination we want for our portals, when creating the legal terms we have the option to select three options: General Terms, Conditions of Use or Privacy Policy.

The common information to be completed on any document will be:

  • Name: Text field that identifies the document.

  • Owner: Field indicating in which Organization, Locations Group or Location the terms of use are associated.

Within the configuration of each document there are three types of design and depending each of them an associated configuration:

Default template

In this case, a default template provided by the platform would be used. The text has labels that can be replaced by editable fields with information about the customer and the operator or company offering the service.

You can edit the template by checking the "Edit Template" option and you can modify any part of the text and make use of the labels. Besides, the template is available in several languages and in each of them you can modify the labels and edit the text.

The labels to be configured for the type of document vary depending on the type of legal terms being configured:

General Terms:

  • Company Purpose

  • Address

  • Tax ID

  • Area

  • Sector

  • Email

  • D.P.O. (Data Protection Officer)

Conditions of use:

  • Company Purpose

  • Address

  • Tax ID

  • Area

Privacy policy:

  • Company purpose

  • Address

  • Tax ID

  • Email

  • DPO data

Exists the possibility to visualize a preview of the terms of use that will be shown to the users once the data has been filled.

Ad-hoc text

In this case, the terms of use can be edited completely for the captive portal inside the text editor that exists in the WIFI platform when the Ad-hoc text option is selected:

Redirections

In this option an external URL is included so when the users want to see the terms of use they will be redirected to a website which will contein the terms of use of the Wifi service. It is possible to include a URL for every language on the captive portal. If there is not an URL for a determinated language, it is redirected to the URL selected in the default one.

Terms of use created in this section must be associed to the WLANs inside the configuration of each Location. In the section Locations it's explained how to associate the terms of use to each WLAN.

On the next link you will find a video tutorial that explains all the necessary steps to create the terms of use, visit the section Video tutorials.
