Octopus Wifi v 1.17. Release notes

This July 29th 2020, Blue Octopus publish the update to the 1.7 version of the Octopus Wifi platform. The update window will be between 12:00 and 12:30 and in principle does not affect the service.

NEW FEATURES

Refactoring Access Methods: The configuration of the access method in the graphic interface is reorganized for greater clarity and new configuration parameters are added: Possibility of requesting extra information to those obtained by the social networks to ensure minimum data per login.

Refactoring Access Methods - Form: The access method settings in the graphical interface are reorganized for clarity.

Change login page texts: When an error occurs in radius in the mobile devices with CNA (Captive Network Assistant), they switch to connection via mobile data and by pressing the button return would already have access to the Internet where a warning page appears. The message is modified to inform more clearly of the possible situation and suggests starting the connection process again.

User avatar permissions on some clients: In case of configuring users from superadmin access, the image is not associated with proper permissions. In case of editing them by final user they would only see the images to which they have permissions.

Campaigns Link Buttom: The size is adjusted and the default colors of the portal campaigns link button are changed.

WLAN > Types of legal documents: Tipo de documentos legales: The texts are changed to define it more clearly.

Include legal texts in emails to customers: In the validation methods by payment or wifi sponsor, the legal texts configured in the WLAN are included in the footer of the mail sent to the users.

Review of GDPR permits in user registration: Where it is configured that no information is stored in the database, the user consent boxes do not appear by default, even if they are configured in the WLAN.

Change translations: Change Access methods names. In Spanish and English In Spanish and English: "Formulario/Form" and in English: "Social Networks", "Click-through", "Pago/Payment". On the other hand, the translations of "MAC Caching" in English and Spanish are also changed.

Delete Registered Users > Logout: When a user is deleted, the associated session is also cancelled.

Registered Users > Historical consents: The most recent consents are placed at the top of the list and the most recent ones are highlighted.

Elimination of services or access methods: Delete the database services when they are deleted from the interface. Right now they are only changed in status and remain in the database.  Consequences on statistics and registered users are reviewed.

BUGS

Instagram API integration: Validation errors occur with the instagram access method, because it was not really known in detail whether the authentication would still be supported by facebook: https://www.instagram.com/developer/. As can be seen in the following,  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-basic-display-api, Facebook offers as an alternative for the Instagram authentication process the Facebook login, but it is necessary to have both accounts linked in order to offer it. “Instagram's basic display is not an authentication solution. The data returned by the API can't be used to authenticate users of your app or to register them with your app. If you need an authentication solution, we recommend that you use Facebook login.”

Translation of time selector tags: For the different access methods, the units of measurement of the time selector are translated into English.

Registered users, Language without icon: In cases with "default" language other than English, the language icon in the list of registered users was not loaded correctly.

User list, username column: In the list of platform users, in case of very long usernames, two lines were formed by squaring the list.

Click-through. Early session expiration: In login "Accept conditions" configuring session per device and maccaching, sometimes the new session was not created correctly when the previous one expired.

MACs format - Radius Tracker: If the MAC with hyphens is not entered as separators, the authentication information is not displayed in radius tracker. It is configured to allow the most common separators or no separators at all.

Bug when creating new SMS gateways: Fixes bug in the graphical interface when creating or editing SMS gateways

Geographic reports box: Within advanced statistics > geographic reports, in case of selecting a wifiare, the wifiare is centered so that the full option box can be seen.

Select option "Every wifiarea owned by the tenant": Only accessible with tenant administrator permission.
